Hindus demand to make the report public while the Muslims protest

Varanasi (UP) – The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Monday submitted the Gyanvapi mosque survey report in a sealed cover to the Varanasi District Court. Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side in the Gyanvapi survey case, raised objections regarding the submission of the report in a sealed cover and said that the report should have been in the public domain. Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee has requested the Court to not divulge the findings of the report to the public, he added. The report is said to be of 1,500 pages.

The report was earlier scheduled to be submitted to the judge on 11 th December but was deferred on the ASI’s request, which requested one more week. Finally, this report was submitted to the Court on 18 th December. Gyanvapi was surveyed for 100 days after the Court order. Representatives of both Hindu and Muslim parties were present during the survey. The survey has been filmed.
