Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarm
Guwahati (Assam) – Assam Government has closed 1,281 madarasas that used to run with subsidy and English medium schools have been opened there now. These schools will teach usual subjects for everyone instead of Islamic education. State’s Minister of Education Ranoj Pegu tweeted that all Government and provincial madarsas have now been converted into secondary education schools.
1.Madarasas that have been closed in this way were largely concentrated in Dhubri District, which is adjacent to Bangladesh. Apart from this, madarsas from Barpeta, Nogaon, Golpada, etc. Districts have also been closed. A large number of Muslims intrude into these Districts from Bangladesh.
2.The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has already made it clear that he intends to close down all madarasas in the State because India needs schools, colleges, and universities. Engineers, doctors, etc. are going to be produced from these and not from madarasas.
