Anti-Hindu decision of Tamil Nadu’s DMK Government to rewrite the ‘Sthala Purana’ of the temples

Chennai – The Government is planning to rewrite the ‘Sthala Purana’ of all Hindu temples across Tamil Nadu State. A committee has been constituted for this purpose. ‘The best architectural specimens were created by Hindus in the ancient times. The design of various ancient temples is an examples of this. The Government is planning to destroy this connection between the temples and the genius of the ancient Hindus in the field of architecture’ feels the Hindu community.

What is the meaning of ‘Sthala Purana’ ?

‘Sthala Purana’ is a Sanskrit word which means ‘History of the Place’. It is the religious and historical account of a temple, area or a site. This information is available in the form of manuscripts or religious texts related to that area.
