New Delhi – The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that there is no risk of sudden death of young people due to the coronavirus vaccine after a study conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

1. According to the study, hospitalisation, family history of sudden death and certain lifestyle habits increased the rate of sudden death during the coronavirus pandemic period.

2. These habits include drinking alcohol continuously for 48 hours before death, consuming drugs or any other intoxicating substances or performing various types of intense physical exertion for 48 hours before death.

3. The report also states that people who receive at least one dose of the vaccine may reduce the risk of such sudden deaths.

Study was conducted in 47 hospitals of the country for 1-1/2 years

The research conducted by ICMR is based on a study conducted in 47 major hospitals across the country during a period of one and a half years from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2023. The study was conducted on 729 people between the ages of 18 and 45. These were people who were healthy and had no major illness. However, they died suddenly due to unknown reasons. The study found that people who received two doses of the vaccine were less likely to die suddenly, while those who received one dose were slightly more likely to die all of sudden.
