Leaders of the opposition parties met the Ambassador of Palestine to India
New Delhi – A joint resolution has been circulated by a delegation of 16 opposition leaders, which reads,’ We emphasise the need for increased efforts by the international community in bringing about a peaceful resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. The international community must exert pressure on Israel to abide by international laws and respect the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people. We call for urgent and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza’. The resolution does not mention a word about 1,300 Israelis who were killed in the horrific attacks by the Hamas terrorists.

16 leaders of the opposition parties met the Ambassador of Palestine to India, Adnan Mohammed Jaber Abualhayjaa, on 16th October, after which the above resolution was circulated. The delegation included Congress leader and former Union Minister Mani Shankar Iyer, Srikant Kumar Jena, CPI’s General Secretary D. Raja, CPI (M) leader Nilotpal Basu, BSP MP Danish Ali, RJD MP Manoj Jha, Samajwadi Party’s Javed Ali, JDU’s Chief General Secretary KC Tyagi, etc. After the meeting, these leaders issued a joint resolution emphasising intensified efforts to stop the war.
The joint resolution further said,’We express our deep concern regarding the ongoing crisis in Gaza and the suffering of the Palestinian people. We strongly condemn the indiscriminate bombing of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel, which we believe amounts to an attempt to genocide’.
The leaders of this delegation also posted pictures of killings of the Palestinian people, including the innocent children in Gaza on ‘X’. They also wrote that Israel’s stupidity must stop’.

With this argument, Hindus must also attempt to declare India a Hindu Rashtra ! – Editor The opposition leaders have further added in the joint resolution, ‘We strongly believe in the statement of Mahatma Gandhi, “Palestine belongs to the Arabs in the same sense that England belongs to the English or France to the French”, which reflects his belief in the importance of recognising the sovereignty and territorial rights of the Palestinian people.Recognising that the Palestinian people have endured immeasurable suffering for over 75 years, we firmly assert that now is the time to end their plight’. |
