Ottawa (Canada) – ‘It is important that Canada and its allies strengthen their ties with India. India is being given importance in various forums across the world. It is a growing economic power and important geopolitical player. And as we presented with our Indo-Pacific strategy, just last year, we’re very serious about building closer ties with India’, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said at a press conference in Montreal. This shows that Trudeau who spoke against India has softened his stand. This is said to be due to India’s tit-for-tat response to Canada and Trudeau’s failure in getting global support.

US on our side in Nijjar case !
Trudeau said about the Nijjar killing, ‘We need to emphasise that India needs to work with Canada to ensure that we get the full facts of this matter. The US has assured us that its Foreign Minister Antony Blinken will raise Nijjar’s murder case before India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar. The Americans have been with us in speaking to the Indian Government about how important it is that they be involved in following up on the credible allegations that agents of the Indian Government killed a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil’. Though Trudeau said this, in the meeting of External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and Antony Blinken, issue of Nijjar’s killing was not raised. This showed the world that Trudeau is openly lying with reference to the US.
