India did not forget the other nations of the world in its march for economic progress – Manish Gobin Minister for Agro-Industry and Food Security Mauritius

In 1990 India decided to become a free economy. Because of this, it has reached great heights economically. While making economic progress India did not forget other countries. Maneesh Gobin, Mauritius Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, said, “Throughout the G20, I should say whereby the global south has been given a prominent voice,” he said and welcomed the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member of G20 “which reinforces the legitimacy of the G20.”

India is trying to get the economically poor and developing nations of the south together as the ‘Global South’ on the world’s decision-making platform. Bringing Mauritius on the G-20 stage is an example of this mindset, Gobin said adding that Mauritius was “very honoured” to be invited as a guest country at the G20.
