New Delhi – All the members of Parliament walked from old Parliament building to the new Parliament building where they received guidance from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and began their work. At this time, Law Minister Arjun Meghwal presented 128th amendment Bill in the Constitution. This Bill, named ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ seeks to reserve 33% seats for women in the Parliament and State Legislative Assembly. Once the Bill is passed, the number of women in the Parliament will be 181. Currently, there are 82 women Parliament members. Experts say that even if the Bill is passed, it will not be implemented in 2024 elections because it can be implemented only after delimitation. Delimitation will be done only after census. Both are not possible before elections.
