Muslim pelt stones on a Hindu procession in Bagaha (Bihar)

Bagaha (Bihar) – In Ratnamala area of Bagaha the Hindus on the 21 st of August took out a procession on ‘Nagapanchami’. This procession was opposed by the Muslims as it came near a Mosque resulting in stone-pelting, vandalism, and arson by both the groups. The violence and riots spread to the Bagaha and Motihari area. In this rioting, 12 individuals including a journalist and 2 Police personnel were injured. The District Officer Dinesh Rai reached the riot site as soon as he got the news. Large Police force was deployed in the Ratnamala area. (Muslims are the ones who start the violence and riot, yet it is said that their existence is in danger in India. – Editor)

The procession of more than 400 devotees was opposed by mob of more than 200 Muslims as it came near the mosque. They said that the procession could not proceed from there. This angered
the devotees participating in the procession. After this, both sides began pelting stones and fighting with each another. Some houses were vandalised. Two-wheelers were burned.

In this brawl Amit Kumar, Ayush Kumar, Pahavari Prasad, Radheshyam Majhi, Bhagwan Choudhary, journalist Munna Raj, Police personnel Harish Ram and Nagina Yadav were injured. Sub-Inspector Ashok Chaudhary has said that the situation in Ratnamala is now under control.

It has now become a regular feature that the Hindus take out a procession and the Muslims show their opposition to the procession. It is necessary that an effective unity is created among the Hindus.
