Information provided by outgoing Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi

New Delhi – More than 1,100 ground-level interactions are held every year between the Indian and Chinese armies to prevent any misunderstanding along the border. Although the situation along the border remains stable, it is also sensitive, and the Indian Army is fully prepared to deal with any eventuality, outgoing Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said.

He further stated that the Indian Army is rapidly transforming its military strategy and preparing itself for future warfare.

General Upendra Dwivedi added that self-reliance is no longer merely a policy but has become a fundamental requirement for national security. During war or any crisis, the country should not have to depend on others for weapons, ammunition or military technology. The Indian Army is rapidly moving towards adopting indigenous technology and systems based on drones, electronic warfare, communication networks and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
