Police foil terror plot to carry out a terrorist attack in Delhi

New Delhi – The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has arrested four Khalistani terrorists who had conspired to carry out a terrorist attack in the Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region) at the behest of Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence). Three of them were arrested from Punjab and one from Delhi. They were in direct contact with ISI handler Shahzad Bhatti, who was directing and coordinating terrorist activities in India, and were acting on his instructions. Two foreign-made pistols, nine live cartridges and five mobile phones were seized from them.

1. Shubhdeep Singh alias Vishal was arrested from the Majitha Road area of Amritsar. Based on the information he provided, Gurjant Singh alias Rishi and Sajan Singh alias Honey were also arrested in Punjab. The fourth terrorist, Gaganpreet, was arrested in Delhi.

2. Shubhdeep disclosed that he was in contact with an ISI handler based in Pakistan and used drones to procure weapons and narcotics from Pakistan. Gaganpreet had been assigned the task of conducting reconnaissance of religious places in Delhi. He was recording videos of these locations and sending them to Pakistan. He had also been instructed to open fire at police stations in Delhi.

3. These terrorists, who lived in the border areas of Punjab, used to receive weapons and narcotics sent from Pakistan by drones and distribute them further.
