Dhaka (Bangladesh) – For the first time, Bangladesh has formed four Army battalions named after Muslim Caliphs.

Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman has named these battalions after the Rashidun Caliphs Umar, Abu Bakr, Ali and Uthman. Each battalion comprises approximately 700 soldiers. All four battalions will be deployed along India’s north-eastern border.
