A mosque vandalised by the mob in Gurugram, Haryana

  • Response to the recent violence in Nuh
  • One dead; another one seriously injured

Gurugram (Haryana) – After the attack by fanatic Muslims on a Hindu religious procession at Nuh, reactions have sparked in the neighbouring Gurugram District. An under-construction mosque in Sector 57 was vandalised and set on fire by a mob of 100 to 200 people. Mohammad Saad was killed while Khurshid Alam was injured in this incident allegedly due to firing by the mob. The mob first pelted stones on the Police personnel present at the location and subsequently the mosque was attacked. Following the incident, security has been beefed up around religious places in this area.

Mohammad Aslam Khan, President of Haryana Anjuman Trust, said that a Police team had reached the mosque in the evening following the violence at Nuh. They had guaranteed safety of the mosque; despite that this attack happened. (Similarly, a Hindu religious procession was attacked at Nuh despite Police protection. Should we compare the Police protection with a scarecrow ? – Editor).
