Woman stripped and paraded naked in Howrah, Bengal

Kolkata – A woman in Howrah, Bengal has alleged that workers of the ruling TMC party stripped and paraded her naked. She said that this incident took place on 8th July in Panchala village. On this day, voting was held for panchayat elections in the State. Several incidents of violence were reported in Bengal that day. The Police have registered a case based on the allegation of the woman. The FIR has the names of TMC candidates Hemant Rai, Noor Alam, Alfi S K, Ranbir Panja Sanju, Sukmal Panja etc.

The woman said in the complaint that 40 to 50 TMC workers attacked her with sticks and threw her away from the polling station. They tried to tear her clothes and stripped her. They also teased her in front of everyone and touched her inappropriately.

Amit Malviya, Head of BJP’s IT cell, tweeted, ‘Do you have any shame Mamata Banerjee ? A woman was beaten, stripped naked and paraded in Howrah’s Panchla, stones throw away from Nabanno, where you sit. You are a failed Chief Minister. Please focus on Bengal……’

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee had criticised Prime Minister Modi in harsh words in the case of stripping of two women in Manipur.
