District administration is not cooperating for the investigation – National Commission for Protection of Child Rights

Dungarpur (Rajasthan) – The principal of a Government School here has been arrested for raping at least six female students. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) is investigating the matter. Priyank Kanoongo, Chairman of the NCPCR has complained that they are not getting required cooperation from the local District administration. The matter came to light when the villagers filed a complaint against the principal on 31st May. The principal was arrested on 3rd June.
- The accused principal’s name is Ramesh Chandra Katara. As per the information from the local media reports, he used to call female students aged between 8 and 12 years during vacations and he raped them after watching porn movies.
- He used to threaten the victims so that they would not inform their parents. He used to scare them by saying ‘I will fail you’ or ‘I will kill you by pushing into the nearby pond’.
- One of the victims had frequent abdominal pains. When her mother asked the victim repeatedly, this matter came to light.
- Another victim’s mother said that the principal sexually abused not 6 but 10 female students. The Police have also confirmed this and further investigation is underway.
