Fed up with religious fanatic’s torture, national-level female baseball player commits suicide

Jabalpur (MP) – National-level baseball player Sanjana Barkade committed suicide after being constantly threatened by Abdul Mansoori to convert to Islam. On 5th June, 2023, she committed suicide by hanging herself. The Police  have arrested Abdul Mansoori in this case.

1. Sanjana’s father said that Abdul befriended Sanjana saying he was a Hindu. They were friends for a year. When Sanjana realised that ‘Abdul is a Muslim’, she distanced herself from him. Because of this, he started threatening her.

2. Sanjana’s mother claimed that Abdul Mansoori alias Rajan Khan was constantly pressuring Sanjana to convert to Islam. Once he had called. He had asked, “Persuade your daughter to accept Islam. I want to do nikah with her. If you all do not accept Islam, we know where your home is. We will kill you. Nothing will happen if you accept Islam”

3. Abdul had stolen some of Sanjana’s documents and the medals she had won. When Sanjana came to know about this, she asked him to return those things. On this, he asked her to accept Islam.

Editorial Viewpoint

Even though a law has been enacted to prevent ‘Love Jihad’ in Madhya Pradesh, such incidents are still happening. This shows that religious fanatics do not fear law. Therefore, it will not be surprising if someone demands that such people should be punished by cutting off their hands and legs according to the Sharia law or by burying them waist-deep in a pit and stoning to death.
