A MiG-21 Air Force plane crashes in Rajasthan : 2 women killed

Jodhpur (Rajasthan) – A MiG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed into a house in Rajasthan, killing two women and injuring one. The accident took place at Bahlolnagar in Hanumangarh village. The pilot and the co-pilot jumped out of the plane in the nick of time and both their lives were saved. The Indian Air Force however has said that they will investigate this accident.

When many such accidents keep happening with the MIG-21, why haven’t these planes been retired yet ? How can the presence of such defective aircraft be a sign of competent combat readiness ?
