Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) – After clashes between two groups over the desecration of the religious flag (Dharmadhwaj) on the occasion of Shriramnavami by members of a fanatic organisation, violence once again erupted between two groups at Kadma Shastrinagar area in Jamshedpur when religious fanatics created havoc by pelting stones, vandalising many shops and vehicles and they resorted to firing too. Police had to fire in the air to bring the situation under control. There is a curfew in the area and internet service has been temporarily suspended. 1. The violence went on for about three hours during which many Policemen, including senior Superintendent of Police (SP), Prabhat Kumar, have been injured. (Why should Hindus pay taxes and provide for such police if they are unable to control rioting fanatics for 3 hours ? – Editor) Police took more than 60 people into custody, who were involved in stone-pelting and rioting.
2. The Police burst tear gas shells to disperse the rioters as per the information given by SP Prabhat Kumar. Paramilitary force has been deployed in the area.
3. Dy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav of east Singhbhum District informed that a few anti-social elements were trying to disturb peace in the area and the citizens should cooperate to foil their plans. (The State administration’s asking for the help of citizens to control anti-social elements is very shameful ! Dy District Commissioner is expected to issue orders to take such action which will put a curb on the anti-social elements ! – Editor)
4. Earlier, on the 31st of March 2023, fanatic Muslims had obstructed and pelted stones at the Shriramnavami procession in Jugsalai area of Jamshedpur. They burnt tyres on the roads and damaged Police vehicles. Police then stopped the procession, enraging Hindus who started recitation of ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ at Bata Chowk.

What was the cause of violence ?Fanatic Muslims tied a plastic bag filled with meat to the pillar of ‘Dharmadhwaj’ on the evening of the 9th of April 2023 at Block 3 of Kadma Shastrinagar. A meeting was held by pro-Hindu organisations in ‘Jatadhari’ Hanuman Mandir in Block 2. It was resolved to name the chowk ‘Bajrangbali Chowk’ when suddenly stone-pelting started at the meeting, leading to an eruption of violence. |
