Supreme Court orders ‘Z+’ security to industrialist Ambani’s family within and outside India

SC also directs Ambanis to bear the expenditure

New Delhi – Supreme court, while hearing the appeal against a verdict of Tripura High Court, directed that world’s best ‘Z+’ security be given to Mukesh Ambani and his family across the world and not only within Maharashtra or India. State Government would be responsible to provide security in Mumbai and within Maharashtra, while the Ministry of Home Affairs would be responsible for security wherever he travels outside Maharashtra across the country and the world. It is inexpensive within Mumbai to provide the best security services but the same is quite expensive around the world. Court has ordered that this expenditure is to be borne by the Ambani family.

The Bench passed the order in a Miscellaneous Application filed by one Bikash Saha in the Centre’s Special Leave Petition challenging Tripura High Court’s interim orders directing the Ministry of Home Affairs to produce the original files regarding threat perception in relation to Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani and their children Akash, Anant and Isha.
