Decision of the Pakistan Government
Islamabad (Pakistan) – A resolution has been passed in the parliament of Pakistan. According to the resolution, teaching the Holy Quran with translation, Tajweed and Tafseer will be made compulsory in all universities for students of all religions, without making it part of examinations or provision of additional marks so that focus should remain on acquisition of learning and knowledge. This resolution aimed at inculcating detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in the minds of the younger generations. Hence, now apart from Muslims, minority Hindus and other religion’s followers too will have to compulsorily study the Quran.
