Shopian (Jammu-Kashmir) – A Kashmiri Hindu Puran Krishna Bhat of Chowdhary Gund area was shot and killed by jihadi terrorists. Bhat was a resident of Shopian. The terrorist shot at him as he was going to his orchard. Thereafter, he was taken to the hospital but he died on the way. Security agencies have cordoned off the area after this incident. They are conducting a search operation. After this killing, the Kashmiri Hindus in the state came out on the streets and demonstrated against the State Administration and the Central Government.

1. Kashmir Pandit Sangharsh Samiti expressed their anger and anguish in a Tweet that nothing has changed in Kashmir. ‘The situation in Kashmir is like that in 1990’, is the message for Centres Home Minister Amit Shah.
2. The Samiti is also alleging in another Tweet that the District Officer and Police Commissioner are pressuring the Puran Bhat’s family to complete his last rites at the earliest as they want to show that there is peace in the valley.
3. The Kashmiri Hindu Government employees blocked Jammu’s Canal Road protesting the killing. They said, we have told the Government again and again that the situation is not normal in the valley still, no concrete steps have been taken. We have been agitating for the past 5 months requesting a transfer out of Kashmir, but our demands are ignored again and again.
4. Before this, in August, the jihadi terrorists had killed Kashmiri Hindu Sunil Kumar Bhat in an apple orchard. This killing was claimed by the Jihadi Terrorist organisation ‘Kashmir Freedom Fighters’. The organisation said that Sunil Kumar was killed for participating in the Tiranga Yatra.
