Sambhal (UP) – Adipurush, a Ramayana-based film, is now facing opposition due to its wrong portrayal of Ravan, Hanuman, Shriram and Lakshman. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has also expressed opposition to this film. It has been warned that ‘this film will not be allowed to screen in theatres’. It is scheduled for release in January 2023.

According to Ajay Sharma, head of the VHP’s campaign division in Sambhal (UP), the wrong portrayal of Hindu Deities in films is a mockery of Hinduism. There is a lack of responsibility on the part of the Censor Board. The Board isn’t doing its duties. Therefore, the Government should dissolve the Board.
