Srinagar (J&K) – DGP, Prisons Department of J&K, Hemant Lohia, was murdered by his servant Yasir in his own house late in the night on 3rd October. After the murder, an attempt was made to burn the dead body. After the incident, Yasir is absconding, and the Police are searching for him. Based on what he has written in his diary, the Police expressed that he has a mental illness. So, the Police have claimed that the murder was not a terrorist attack. On the other hand, about 10 hours after the murder, on the morning of 4th October, the terrorist organisation Peoples Anti-Fascist Force accepted the responsibility for Lohia’s murder on social media. This organisation is an affiliate of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terrorist organisation. The organisation said it is our small gift to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. We can kill anyone, anytime, anywhere. Amit Shah is currently on a tour of Kashmir.

Jammu Region Additional DGP Mukesh Singh said that Lohia’s throat was slit. Burn marks were found on his body. Preliminary investigation revealed that Lohia had applied oil to his leg before the incident. His leg was swollen. The killer tried to burn the body after killing him by slitting his throat with a glass bottle. Hearing the screams, the family came for the rescue. First, an attempt was made to kill him by pressing him with a pillow. Security forces first noticed a fire in the room. As the door was locked from inside, they broke the door and entered.

Before the incident, on 3rd October in the afternoon in Baramulla, some terrorists fired at a bank manager, but he survived.
