Police request Muslims to offer namaz in their homes

Mangaluru (Karnataka) – On the night of the 28^th of July, 4 -5 unknown people inhumanly beat and stabbed a youth Mohmmad Fazil in the Surathkal area of Mangaluru. After this incident, the Police have imposed section 144 in the area said Mangaluru Police Commissioner N. Sasi Kumar. The Police, with a view to maintaining law and order in the area, has requested the Muslims to offer namaz in their homes. The Police have appealed to the citizens not to believe any rumours. The police assured them that action against the culprits will be taken very soon. In the past 3 days in Karnataka, 2 Muslims and 1 Hindu have been brutally murdered.

The killers had worn masks while committing the crime. They had come in a four-wheeler. Fazil was attacked when he was speaking with an acquaintance outside the cloth shop. He was wounded in the attack and died while being taken to a hospital. It is being said that Fazil was a Police informer.
