Jaipur (Rajasthan) – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Rajasthan’s Anti-Terrorism Squad are probing the murder of Kanhaiyalal in Udaipur, who posted in support of Nupur Sharma. Their interrogation revealed that 40 people from Rajasthan had been trained to behead Nupur Sharma’s supporters at the behest of militants linked to the Pakistani organisation Dawat-e-Islami. These 40 people were to target people in 6 Districts of the State. This fact came to light after verifying the mobile phones of Riaz Attari and Ghaus Mohammed, who killed Kanhaiyalal. They were contacting 10 people in Pakistan on 20 mobile numbers. They were trained to behead by audio and video calls through social media like WhatsApp. The beheadings were to be carried out in the same manner as the Taliban militants, make a video of the act and create terror by making the video viral.

Dawat-e-Islami had opened a controversial religious book shop in Ajmer, selling books with jihadi views. A bookseller was paid Rs. 350 per day for it. Riaz and Ghaus used to distribute these books to the general public.
