
New Delhi – The Supreme Court thrashed the petition filed by Zakia Jafri, the wife of former Congress MLA Ehsan Jafri, regarding the Gujarat riots in 2002. Last year, after the hearing on 9th December, the Court had kept the decision on hold. This year on 24th June, the Court dismissed a plea by Congress leader Ehsan Jafri’s wife Zakia alleging a huge conspiracy.

On 29th June in 2002, Ehsan Jafri along with 69 others was killed. At that time Narendra Modi was the Gujarat CM. After the investigation, the investigation department acquitted Narendra Modi and 64 others. Zakia Jafri had filed a petition against this decision in the Supreme Court.
