Kolkata High Court slammed Trinamool Congress Government over the ongoing violence

If the Kolkata Police cannot maintain law and order in the state, then call in Central forces

Kolkata (Bengal) –  The Kolkata High Court slammed the Trinamool Congress Government that if State Police can’t maintain law and order in the State, then Central forces should be called in. It slammed the Government for the ongoing violence in the State that resulted from Nupur Sharma’s alleged remarks on Prophet Mohmmad Paigambar. Some petitions have been filed in connection with the violence. The Court is hearing them.

1. The Court ordered the collection of CCTV footage from the violence-hit areas. In this way, those involved in the violence can be identified and prosecuted. The Government should also clarify its role in compensating property owners and asked to submit a report in this regard.

2. According to the petition filed by Niladri Saha, the Police silently stood by while the BJP office was set on fire.

3. Another petition states that on 9th June, public property was damaged by blocking the National Highway at Ankurhati in Howrah. The perpetrators of the violence must be identified, and compensation must be recovered from them.

4. Muslims were responsible for violence in Howrah, Murshidabad, 24 Parganas, Nadia, and other places in Bengal. In addition to stone-pelting at the Police, many Hindu houses were set on fire. There were also attacks on and damages to train. There were injuries to some passengers as a result of the violence.

Editorial viewpoint

Law and order in the state have already been destroyed. Therefore, the Hindus there feel the Court should order the appointment of Central Forces to maintain law and order in the state.
