First Russian soldier jailed for life over war crimes

Kyiv (Ukraine) – A Russian soldier has been jailed for life at the first war crime trial over the war crime of killing a civilian since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He was the first war criminal after the attack of Russia on Ukraine in February. So far no official response to this has been received from Russia. 21-year-old war criminal, Vadim Shishimarin is a tank commander.

He has been accused of murdering Oleksandr Shelipov, 62, in the northeastern village of Chupakhivka on 28th February. This happens to be the first case against the Russian war criminal. More than 10 thousand war crimes against Russia are on Ukraine’s records.
