Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s allegation

Guwahati (Assam) – ‘Nehru was going to give Assam to Pakistan’, this allegation was made by Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam when criticising Rahul Gandhi. When speaking at a conference in London, Rahul Gandhi said that ‘India was not a developed nation. During that time there was a discussion regarding the unification of all the States. Peace was negotiated. The States that negotiated peace with our Nation included Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.’ The CM Himanta Sarma gave the above reply as a counter to this statement.

Chief Minister Sarma retorted, ‘Gopinath Bordoloi with the support of Gandhiji had to struggle a lot to keep Assam with Bharat Mata since Nehru had left Assam to be with Pakistan as per his Cabinet Mission Plan. Get your facts right Rahul Gandhi.’
