200 terrorists ready to infiltrate Indo-Pak border : Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi

Udhampur (J&K) – 200 terrorists are ready on the Indo-Pak border to infiltrate. There are six large and 29 small terrorist camps on the border, said Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi. Lt. Gen. Dwivedi is a Commander of the Indian Army’s northern division. He was speaking at a two-day North Tech Symposium. He added that the Indian Army is fully vigilant in this matter.

Lieutenant General Dwivedi further said,

This year, 21 terrorists have been killed. Pakistan has violated the ceasefire three times in the last year. The movement of terrorists on the border is ongoing and the possibility of involvement of the Pakistani military and its intelligence agencies cannot be ruled out.

Expressing concern over radicalism, he said that efforts were being made to bring radical youth into the mainstream. Since the repeal of Article 370, there have been major changes in Jammu and Kashmir. The military has an important role to play in this. More than 15,000 students are studying in 48 Sadbhavana Vidyalaya’s.

Additional troops were deployed for the security of Amarnath Yatra

On the Amarnath Yatra, Lt. Gen. Dwivedi said that the procedures under Operation Shiva have been regulated. Compared to the year 2019, the number of Amarnath pilgrims may double this year. We will deploy additional troops to prevent any terrorist incidents during the pilgrimage.

Editorial viewpoint

For how many more years will India have to tolerate jihadi terrorism ? It is a shame that all the post-Independence rulers do not realise that teaching a strong lesson to jihad sponsor Pakistan is the only permanent solution to this problem.
