The result of not obeying the orders of the Andhra Pradesh High Court

Amravati (Andhra Pradesh) –The Andhra Pradesh High Court has sentenced 3 IAS officers to imprisonment of 1 month and a fine of Rs. 2,000 for disregarding the decision of the Court and not implementing the order in the time prescribed. They include the Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department – Punam Malakondaiah, the then Commissioner of Agriculture – H Arun Kumar, and former IAS officer G Veerapandian.

The Court in October 2019 had told the Government to employ a person for the post of Village Agriculture Assistant (Grade-II) and they had fixed 2 weeks as the time for implementation of the order, but the Court order was not followed.
