Mumbai – Mohammad Ansari (22) brutally murdered his Hindu girlfriend Sonam Shukla (18) by strangling her with a wire. After killing her, Mohammad packed her body in a sack and dumped it in the creek in Malad West. He did this on the assumption that the fish in the creek would eat the body. Goregaon Police have arrested Mohammad in this case. He runs a bakery.

According to the Police, Sonam Shukla lived in Goregaon. The victim went missing after she left her home for tuition at 4 p.m. on 25th April. When she did not return home by 9:30 p.m., her parents lodged a complaint at the Goregaon Police Station. Later, on 28th April, Sonam’s body was found in a decomposed condition. A medical examination at the hospital revealed that it was Sonam’s body.
BJP leader Kapil Mishra accused it of being a form of ‘Love Jihad’. Such incidents are happening in many places across the country and this issue needs to be discussed, he added.
