New Delhi – There is a noticeable increase in the madarasas and mosques near the borders of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the Bihar States sharing the Nepal border. The population of Muslims has also increased in these areas; therefore, the secret agencies have been alerted. India always had cordial relations with Nepal, but it is a matter of concern that in Indian Districts near the Nepal border, there is a considerable increase in the number of madarasas. The border covering 550 km along with the seven Indian Districts is becoming imbalanced from the viewpoint of the population. Discussions were held between the officers of both countries; however, no action has yet been taken.

1. In Siddharthnagar District of UP, there were 147 madarasas in the year 2000 and now there are 597 madarasas, out of which 145 are unauthorised.

2. In Maharajganj District, there are 252 authorised madarasas, but along its 84 km border with Nepal, the number of madarasas has increased one and half times.

3. There are many madarasas in Nepal’s Rupandehi and Nawalparasi Districts along the Indian border.

4. There was information about ISI agents staying in madarasas at Bhairava in Nepal.

5. In 784 villages along the Indian border, there are 205 madarasas and in 157 villages of Nepal, there are 53 madarasas.

6. Two Kashmiri youth were nabbed in a madarasa in Krishnanagar of Nepal in 1998 which is along the border and it was found that they had a connection with ISI agents.

7. In the Districts of Bihar viz. Madhubani, Purbi Champaran, Pashchim Champaran, and Seetamarhi along the Nepal border, there has been an increase in the number of madarasa in the last ten years. There are 149 madarasas, big and small, in the small villages of Raxaul, Ramgarhwa, Adapur, and Chauradano along the border; out of which only 9 madarasas are legal. The population of Muslims has doubled as compared to the population of Hindus in these regions.

8. More than 300 madarasas have been built even in the border area like Parasa, Bara, and Rautahat Districts of Nepal. 45 madarasas out of them have been built in the last 5 years. The Muslim population has also increased in the area.

9. According to the Indian Intelligence report, a special road is being built for Muslims through UP, Bihar, Haryana, and Punjab for going to Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. The infiltrating Muslims have used the same road for going to different places and settling there in the last ten years.

10. In building 3 mosques within a 50 km area on India and Pakistan border, monetary help was sent through Kashmir.

11.‘Relief and Charitable Foundation of India’ of Kerala built 3 mosques in Punjab in 2019. The money was sent by this organisation through 2 persons from Baramulla, Kashmir, and it had collected Rs. 70 crores from other countries for building mosques.
