Being a Hindu has now become essential to be considered a nationalist : Blurts Anurag Kashyap

Film Director Anurag Kashyap’s Hinduphobic statement

Editorial comments

  • Though the Hindus have never said, ‘In India to be nationalist one has to be a Hindu’. Still, Kashyap, a Hindu by birth, is intentionally maligning the nationalist Hindus by making these comments.
  • India’s renowned scientist President Dr Abdul Kalam Azad was a great nationalist and patriot, but he was not given his due and acceptance by the Muslims. Why does Kashyap not comment about this ?
  • Kashyap never speaks about the people who are Indian citizens but shout slogans ‘Pakistan Zindabad; from this, we can understand who is a patriot and who is not !
Film Director Anurag Kashyap

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – Kerala is State that (gives importance to) values freedom of expression. (Hindus are being oppressed and terrorised in Kerala. Why does Kashyap not speak about this ?- Editor). Today nationalistic thoughts are expressed incorrectly. To be considered a nationalist one has to necessarily be a Hindu, commented Film Director Anurag Kashyap at the International Film Festival in Kerala.

Anurag Kashyap also said ‘Now the modern film producers are fearful of honestly presenting political issues.’ (Why does Kashyap not make such films himself ? Why does he not portray in his cinema the atrocities in the Emergency during the Congress rule ? – Editor)
