Attack on Hindus by religious fanatics in Raisen (MP) : One Hindu dead and over 50 injured

Bhopal (MP) – A tribal Hindu was killed and over 50 others injured in an attack by religious fanatics in Khamriya Paudi village in Raisen District. The condition of the six injured in the attacks is critical. Chief Minister of State, Shivraj Chouhan visited the hospital and inquired about the injured. He announced Rs 5 lakh to the tribal family of the deceased Raju and Rs 2 lakh each to the injured. He said, shooting someone is not an ordinary crime, strict action will be taken against the accused.


The incident took place after a religious fanatic riding a motorcycle along with his sister was passing by the village when a few men passed comment on his rash driving. The man returned with a few others to confront those who passed the comment. During this time, sticks, axes were used and some people opened fire. Shops, vehicles and houses were set on fire. Police arrested 13 people and seized two rifles. A curfew was imposed in the area after the incident
