Bareilly (UP) – On the day of Dhulivandan, some Hindus celebrating Holi near a mosque were beaten up by religious fanatics in a rage. Those who went to rescue them were also beaten up. After this incident, religious fanatics tried to block the national highway. The Police had to lath charge to bring the situation under control. The incident led to a tense situation in the area.

Samajwadi Party MLA, Ataur Rehman alleged that the people celebrating Holi had intentionally dropped colours on the mosque. A case was filed by the caretaker, Abdul Wahid. In his complaint, Wahid mentioned that even though he had asked people not to celebrate Holi near the mosque.
