Former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh defeated

Capt. Amarinder Singh, who was the Chief Minister in the Congress Government and has now left the Congress and formed his own party, has lost the Patiala constituency by more than 19,000 votes. He had won the last election by 52,000 votes.
