Indian Government has demanded an explanation from the Ukrainian and Russian Ambassadors in India
India has asked the Ukrainian Government to provide a safe corridor for the Indian students to return home
Kharkiv (Ukraine) – The Ministry of External Affairs has said that an Indian student has lost his life in the Russian shelling in Kharkiv. The Ministry is in touch with his family. According to reports, Naveen was 21 years old and hailed from Karnataka. He had spoken to his family a couple of days ago and had told them over video call that he has been staying in a bunker and is safe. However, the youngster went out today (March 1, 2022) morning to buy groceries when he became the victim of the Russian attack.

“Foreign Secretary is calling in Ambassadors of Russia and Ukraine to reiterate our demand for urgent safe passage for Indian nationals who are still in Kharkiv and cities in other conflict zones,” Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said on Twitter. He further wrote, “With profound sorrow, we confirm that an Indian student lost his life in shelling in Kharkiv this morning. The Ministry is in touch with his family. We convey our deepest condolences to the family.”
