  • Hindus do not expect a BJP-ruled State to defame the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Government should be have a heavy-handed approach towards  anti-social elements and religious fanatics.

Bengaluru – An equestrian statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been desecrated in Sadashiv Nagar in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. A video of the incident has been circulating on social media. Devout Hindus started protesting on the streets. Some places also witnessed incidents of stone-pelting. The repercussions of this denigration resonated in Maharashtra. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has made an offensive statement on the incident. He said, “The desecration of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is a small thing and therefore, it is wrong to throw stones and disturb the peace. Chief Minister Bommai was addressing a press conference.
