Indian Railways changed the uniform of the staff of the ‘Ramayan Express’

Editorial comment

  • This is the result of the collective opposition expressed by the Saints and the devout Hindus !

New Delhi – Indian Railways had given the uniform like of Sadhus to the staff in the train.  After the strong opposition expressed by the Saints and the devout Hindus, the railways finally changed the uniform.

The Railway has said that the uniform in the ‘Ramayan Express’ has been completely changed. Now the employees will be seen in professional attire. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to the people.

Sadhus had given a warning that the ‘Ramayan Express’ would be stopped in New Delhi on 12th December if the uniforms were not changed.

“Donning saffron attire with Sadhu-like headgear and wearing ‘malas’ of ‘rudraksha’ (sacred seeds) is an insult to Hindu Dharma and its Seers”, Ujjain Akhada Parishad’s former General Secretary Avdeshpuri said. Dr Ashok Shinde, Sanatan Sanstha’s seeker at Khed (in Ratnagiri), had also objected on this matter in a letter to a Manager of IRCTC. Some senior authority had replied to him that the uniforms will be changed.
