Nainital (Uttarakhand) – The house of senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid was stoned and set on fire. In his book ‘Sunrise Over Ayodhya’, Khurshid compared Hindutva to terrorist organisations like ISIS and Boko Haram. The incident is said to be the root cause of the dispute. A few days ago, Vishva Hindu Parishad had burnt the statue of Salman Khurshid at Shahjahanpur and threatened to cut off Khurshid’s tongue. VHP activists had also said that such people should be sent to Pakistan.

“If you want to see what Hindutva does, look at the burnt door of my house,” said Salman Khurshid after the attack on his house. When asked whether Khurshid feels his remarks are scathing, he said, “I don’t think so; otherwise, I would have called a press conference. Even those who disagree with my opinion have not made it clear. They have reached to burn my house in Nainital. Doesn’t this justify what I am saying ? Their Hindutva is contradictory.”
