New Delhi – Reprimanding the farmers’ unions, the Supreme Court said that the farmers do have the right to protest, but the roads cannot be blocked indefinitely. Along with this, the Court ordered them to file their response on a petition seeking removal of the protestors from the roads within three weeks. Farmers’ organisations have been protesting against the three Central Farm Laws, on the borders of Delhi for almost 11 months. Monika Aggarwal, a resident of the Noida area, has filed a PIL in the Supreme Court complaining that there is a huge traffic jam due to the farmers protesting on the Delhi border.
The #SupremeCourt firmly said public roads cannot be blocked even as the #farmers‘ side and government engaged in a verbal blame-game during a physical hearing on Thursday. | writes @kdrajagopal https://t.co/2bIgg17MSB

(Why do citizens have to go to Court to file such complaints ? Why is the Administration, Police and Government not noticing it ? Or are they deliberately ignoring it and letting people suffer ? – Editor) In the petition, demand has been made to remove the agitating farmers from the roads.

Earlier at the time of hearing another petition, the Court observed that due to farmers’ agitation, there is a heavy traffic jam on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border. The traffic cannot be interrupted like this. Central and Uttar Pradesh Government should find a solution for this, observed the Supreme Court. (Even after the Court said this, the Government is not paying attention to it is a serious matter. People feel that the Court should consider this as well – Editor)
