Ayodhya (UP) – ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has purchased the land for the proposed Ram Temple at a minimum price. Some political leaders are deliberately misleading people in this regard. The people who are making such accusations are politically motivated and hence they are merely acting out of their political compulsions’, clarified Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust General Secretary Mr. Champat Rai. An official press release has been released by the Trust in this regard as a response to the accusation levelled against the Trust by the spokesperson and a Rajya Sabha member of AAP Mr. Sanjay Singh who had earlier held a press conference on the same topic. He accused the Trust for purchasing the land for the proposed temple for a total sum of Rs. 18.5 Crores which according to him was available at Rs. 2 Crores merely 10 mins prior. He also demanded a thorough investigation by both CBI and the ED into this matter.

- Mr. Champat Rai clarified that after the historical judgement by the Supreme Court on 9th November 2019, people from all over the country flocked to Ayodhya to purchase land. Quite naturally, this led to an increase in the land prices. The specific piece of land being discussed is located at a prime location near the Railway station. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has so far purchased the land at a minimum price. Signatures are taken on the documents related to the land being sold from the concerned party post their consent. Even the charges for the stamp papers and the associated court fees for the agreement are paid online. The land is purchased only after due consent is obtained from the concerned party. Finally, the payment is credited online to the bank account of the seller as per the agreement.
- Earlier, Mr. Sanjay Singh had alleged that both these transactions took place within 10 minutes on 18th March 2021. He further stated, ‘Not just in India, but anywhere in the world, we have not seen such kind of appreciation in the property rates. It is a blatant case of corruption. A board resolution is needed to purchase a piece of land by the Trust. How did the Trust pass this resolution in less than 5 minutes, and it went on to buy this piece of land in the next 5 ?’ He also showed some documents at the press conference to substantiate his claim.

Cost of land increased in 10 years – Former MLA Dr. Ram Vilas Vedanti
Former MLA Dr. RamVilas Vedanti said, “all this is a political and international conspiracy. Each penny is declared in audit. The landowner had an agreement in 2011. The cost of the land was different at that time and when it was sold to the Trust, the price was increased. Champat Ray is an honest person. It is a conspiracy to defame all devotees of Ram because many political parties have done this earlier as well.
