TIME magazine behind Facebook’s anti-Hindu stance

Facebook’s discriminatory ban on the pages run by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Sanatan Sanstha and others

  • It should be noted that Facebook has unjustly removed website pages of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Sanatan Prabhat and Sanatan Shop without objectively verifying the content
  • After Facebook imposed a discriminatory ban on Sanatan Sanstha’s page in September 2020, the Sanstha questioned Facebook why the latter is not banning the website pages of Zakir Naik, Popular Front of India which are directly involved in propagating Jihadi ideology ? Yet, Facebook has not taken any action against them till date. This shows Facebook’s hypocritical anti-Hindu face and its dictatorial policies.
  • It is evident how anti-Hindu global powers move together to promote their anti-Hindu agenda. Hence, it is the need of hour for Hindus to unite against such communists, so-called secularists, socialists, liberals, and their agents in India and build a formidable resistance against them at global level in a lawful manner.

Mumbai – The US based TIME magazine has published an anti-Hindu, prejudiced and loaded article, in which it says, ‘After Facebook banned Sanatan Sanstha’s page in September 2020, other Facebook pages belonging to organisations associated with Sanstha visible publicly. These pages had 2.7 million followers and regularly posted hate speech against the Muslims. It was not until we (TIME) pointed out a network of more than 30 pages linked to the Sanatan Sanstha, that the social media giant followed through and purged them in April 2021.’ The anti-Hindu article was authored by TIME’s journalist Billy Perrigo and was published on 9th June.

Perrigo further wrote, ‘The pages regularly shared hate speech and misinformation, largely targeting India’s Muslim minority, including Islamophobic depictions of Muslims as green monsters with long fingernails, and repeatedly raised examples of so-called Love Jihad’. (Existence of ‘Love Jihad’ has been proved number of times. Even the High Court has made statement regarding its existence. Many States in India have passed laws criminalising ‘Love Jihad’. However, the TIME’s journalist will never utter a word about it. It shows how to promote the ideology that one wants, which might not be based on the facts. Also, how to give examples that are convenient to promote that ideology is also evident from Perrigo’s article. Perrigo must be awarded for it. – Editor)

Some other points in the article:

1. Facebook has a blind spot with regard to Hindu nationalist hate speech in India, Facebook’s biggest market where it has at least 328 million users. They have consistently removed speech critical of the Modi Government, and left up dangerous speech coming from people who are in political power. However, Facebook does not act against objectionable posts shared by pro-Hindus. (In that case, why did Facebook ban so many pages operated by the devout Hindu organisations ? – Editor)

2. Facebook keeps a list of hundreds of groups around the world that can be categorised as ‘dangerous organisations’; however, they do not make it public. When Facebook labels an organisation dangerous, not only is it banned, but so is any “content that expresses support or praise” for the group, according to Facebook’s rules.

3. Perrigo further reveals in the article, ‘Despite multiple direct questions from TIME, Facebook declined to say whether or not it had banned the Sanatan Sanstha under its dangerous organisations policy.’ (This clearly shows Perrigo’s anti-Hindu bias and hatred for devout Hindu organisations. – Editor)

4. Citing an anti-Hindu journalist towards the end of the article, Perrigo writes, ‘Sanatan Sanstha and HJS continue to maintain an active presence on Twitter, Telegram and YouTube. These social media platforms should also consider banning their accounts’.

TIME ignores Sanatan Sanstha’s standpoint

TIME’s article extensively mentioned the baseless accusations levelled on Sanatan Sanstha by the so-called intellectuals and anti-Hindu people. A few weeks ago, TIME had sent a list of questions to Sanatan Sanstha. Responding to which, Sanatan Sanstha had explained its stand in detail; however, the TIME just partially published the standpoint, largely omitting the gist. Sanatan Sanstha’s spokesperson said that the article hardly mentioned Sanatan’s point of view.

Ban the anti-Hindu, anti-India Facebook – Mr. Chetan Rajhans, Spokesperson, Sanatan Sanstha

Facebook’s ban on pages belonging to the devout Hindu organisations at TIME’s behest, apparently reveals an anti-Hindu alliance between the western media and social media giants. We need to find out the mastermind behind this alliance. While there is freedom of spread of Dharma in India, such an action from Facebook is a grave violation of the fundamental rights of the Indians provided by the Constitution. Hence, the anti-Hindu and anti-India social media like Facebook must be banned in India.
