Police arrested a religious fanatic plotting to assassinate Mahant Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati

  •  Jaish-e-Mohammad, a Pakistani terrorist organisation’s hand in the assassination plan
  • Had planned to enter the temple wearing saffron clothes and kill the Mahant

Hindus feel that the Central and State Governments should strive to protect the Saints, Sages, Mahants and Hindu religious leaders.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police arrested Mohammad Dar alias Jehangir from a hotel in connection with the conspiracy to murder Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati, the Mahant of a temple in Dasna District of Ghaziabad. The Police recovered a Bhagwa kurta, Pooja material, red-thread and vermilion (Kumkum) from the terrorist. A native of Kashmir, Jahangir had agreed to to assassinate Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati. He was contacted by Abid, a high profile terrorist of JeM, a Pakistani organisation. The Police recovered a 0.30 bore pistol, 2 magazines and 15 live rounds from Jahangir. The Police said that he was about to enter the temple disguised as a monk and kill the Mahant. Yati Narasimhanand’s critical remarks on Prophet Mohammad were widely opposed and were the reason behind his assassination plans.

  1. Jahangir was in contact with Abid via WhatsApp. Abid provoked Jahangir by showing Yati Narasimhanand’s video to kill him. Jahangir was trained to handle pistols to kill. Abid had also promised to pay Jahangir well after the murder.
  2. Jahangir came to Delhi from Kashmir on 23rd of April. A person named Umar arranged for his stay in Delhi. When Jahangir was going to Delhi, an amount of Rs. 35,000 was deposited in his bank account.
  3. The Police is interrogating Jahangir and some more information is likely to be revealed. Jahangir was arrested in 2016 for stone pelting after Burhan Wani was killed. (This shows what the stone throwers will do next. It is clear from this that not taking action against such terrorists is a big mistake of the Administration – Editor.)

Conspiracy to assassinate devout Hindu Kamlesh Tiwari

In October 2019, a devout Hindu activist Kamlesh Tiwari was assassinated by Farid-ud-din Shaikh and Ashfaq Shaikh. The two, wearing saffron clothes, went to meet Tiwari in his office in Luknow. It is clear that Jahangir was going to kill Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati in the same manner.
