Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – The Uttarakhand High Court has directed that it will be mandatory for all the devotees planning to visit the Kumbh to hold a valid negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test report. The court order came after Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat announced that no COVID-19 negative report will be needed from April 1 for pilgrims planning to visit Haridwar to take a holy dip in the Ganga River during the Kumbh Mela. Preceding CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had made a negative COVID-19 report mandatory for all the Kumbh visitors of Kumbh, a decision that was overturned by the current CM. This move was questioned in the HC via a PIL. However, the court also exempted those who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 from having to carry a negative text report..
