Uttarakhand Government attempting to hide its own mistakes under the pretext of Covid-19! – Mahant Narendra Giri, President, Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad

If Saints, mahants are displeased about the management of the Kumbh mela, the BJP led Uttarakhand Government ought to take note of this!

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – Mahant Narendra Gir, President of Bharatiya Akhada Parishad said that the decisions taken by the State Government to hide its own mistakes under the pretext of covid-19 are extremely insulting to the saints. He criticised the Government for unilaterally changing Kumbh dates and not having provided adequate facilities to saints. He was speaking after a discussion with sanyasi akhadas and saints. Mahant Giri had come to meet the sanyasi akhadas as they were displeased due to the lack of facilities.

Mahant Narendra Giri said, “We did not face any kind of obstacles during the Kumbh held in Prayagraj and Vrindavan. Then how is it that we are having problems in this Devbhumi ? The Chief Minister had told the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad that Rajayogi snan will be held on 4 days. However, later without consulting the saints, the Government decreased it to 2 days and also reduced the duration of the Kumbh Mela. The saints are not prepared to accept the decisions made by the Government”.
