Police provide security to 5 prime and 26 other saints

Haridwar (UP) – Security arrangements are underway for the Kumbh Mela starting from 1st April. Despite this some saints feel insecure. President and General Secretary of the Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, with Y category security and 26 other saints have been provided security at their own expense by the government. Additionally large number of police forces, paramilitary forces, National Security Guard (NSG) commandos has also been deployed. More than 10 other saints have sought security. In fact none of the saints have received threats in the recent past nor have the intelligence service has expressed any risk to them.

Sanjay Gunjyal, Kumbh Mela IG said, “it is not possible to provide security at present. Security will be provided if felt necessary”.
