Women chant ‘Modi mar ja tu’ in farmers’ protest

  • Such derogratory language is a shame on Indian culture and tradition. The Indian public feels that the farmers’ organisations owe an explanation.
  • Is this the way to voice concern in a democracy? The Government should identify anti national elements who are misusing the agitation and take stringent action against them.

New Delhi – New Delhi – Some videos of the ongoing farmers’ agitation are circulating on social media. In one such video, some women are raising slogans like ‘Modi mar ja tu’, ‘Shiksha bech kar kha gaya re Modi mar ja tu’(Die Modi, you sold education),‘Rail bech kar kha gaya re Modi mar ja tu’ (Die Modi, you sold the Railways), ‘Desh bech kar kha gaya re Modi mar ja tu’ (Die Modi, you sold the Nation), ‘Kissano ko dhoka de gaya re Modi mar ja tu’ (Die Modi, you cheated the farmers).

While it is not clear where this video was shot, there is a banner that reads ‘Akhil Bharatiya Kisaan Sabha’ (All India Kisan Sabha). The AIKS is the peasants’ arm of the Communist Party. BJP General Secretary Kuljit Singh Chahl tweeted this video and said that they cannot be farmers of India. Who is sponsoring them ?

1. More such videos are circulating on social media. In one such video, some agitating farmers are refusing to say ‘Jai Hind’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. They are only chanting ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’ and ‘Assalam Walekum’, which gives a religious tinge to what is being projected as a farmers’ protest. MLA Amanatullah Khan of Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party is also seen in this video.
2. A Sikh farmer was seen threating on Zee News to ‘do away with Modi, as they had done away with Indira Gandhi’.
