Bareilly (UP) – The first complaint regarding Love Jihad has been registered in Bareilly after the UP Government passed a law against Love Jihad. The complaint was registered against a Muslim man for pressurising Hindu girl to change her religion to Islam for marriage. Girl’s father lodged the complaint. The Police told that the accused will soon be arrested. The incident took place in Devraniya village.
Girl’s father has stated in his complaint that his daughter befriended Owais Ahmed during her education, following which the accused started coercing her for marriage and conversion to Islam. The complainant said he tried to talk peace with the accused several times; however, the accused did not cooperate and threatened to kill the former’s family.
